Mental health issues continue to be a growing public health concern worldwide. Over a third of visits to GPs are about mental health. Mental health issues range from worries we all experience as part of everyday life to serious long-term conditions. Our psychologists treat a wide range of emotional and health related difficulties.

  • Some people seek help to manage psychological conditions such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Others find psychological therapy helpful to address issues such as anger management and work related stress
  • Others seek support with adjusting to life changes such as sudden illness, chronic pain, relationship breakdown and bereavement.

Type of treatment

Our psychologists are trained in the use of a variety of psychological approaches. Their practice is informed by NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) and SIGN (Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network) guidelines, as well as evidence-based treatments.
